imgAs a Florida Bar Board Certified Construction Lawyer in Tampa, Trenton Cotney focuses his practice on all aspects of construction law and commercial litigation and arbitration, including OSHA defense, lien law, bond law, contractor licensing defense and bid protests, as well as document review and drafting. He routinely represents contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, suppliers, manufacturers, and other clients in a variety of matters.

Since 1999, Trent Cotney has dedicated himself to representing the construction industry. He is actively involved with many local and state associations.

He serves as General Counsel, Co-Chairman of the Public Relations Committee and a Director of the Florida Roofing, Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors Association (FRSA) where he represents the interests of the roofing industry statewide. Cotney is also a member of the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA), West Coast Roofing Contractor’s Association (WCRCA) and Pinellas County Contractors Association (PCCA). For his service to the roofing industry, he has been awarded the FRSA President’s Award, the FRSA Earl Blank “Heart” Award, and WCRCA’s Byron Curry Award.

In addition, Cotney has been actively involved with Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC) and is both a member and a frequent lecturer. Mr. Cotney has also lectured at the national Best of Success Conference and presented seminars for the Florida Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Contractors Association (FRACCA), the National Association of Credit Managers (NACM), the Hillsborough County Association of Plumbers and Heating and Cooling Contractors (HAPHCC), and many other organizations throughout the State of Florida.
