Jade Craig | Attorney

Jade Craig joined Cotney Construction Law in 2017. He practices in all areas of labor & employment law, including drafting contracts, agreements, and employee handbooks, advising employers on best practices and policies, drafting and enforcing non-compete agreements, whistleblower actions, OSHA investigations and proceedings, worker’s compensation, and claims under federal and state civil rights law for discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. He also handles a variety of construction litigation matters, including disputes involving local governments, architects, engineers, contractors and condominium associations.

In Jade’s hometown of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Jade’s father often worked as a day laborer doing various jobs on construction sites. Jade is a first-generation college graduate. He received a full scholarship to the University of Virginia and was a member of the liberal arts honors program. Jade completed three years of service as a corps member with Teach For America, where he served kindergartners in Mississippi. After Jade completed Columbia Law School, he completed two clerkships on the federal trial and appellate courts. As a presidential appointee, Jade worked with housing developers and advocates to increase both new construction and renovation of existing structures in rural and urban across the country.

Jade believes in the power of the law to organize relationships, solve problems, and to develop more effective business practices. He utilizes his experience and training to assist clients at Cotney Construction Law in developing and maintaining successful relationships with their employees and partners. In his free time, Jade enjoys spending time outdoors with his family.
