Here's How You Can Protect Your Business

Daniel Auerbach

Daniel “Dan” Auerbach was welcomed as an associate attorney to Cotney Construction Law in 2014.   Dan’s practice areas encompass both commercial/construction litigation and various transactional matters.  Specifically, Dan’s focuses include contract review and drafting, contract negotiation, lien law, bond law, building code violation defense, construction defect litigation, OSHA defense, bid protest litigation, employment claim defense and contractor licensing defense.

Dan completed his undergraduate degree with a double major in International Studies and Political Science, along with a minor in Mandarin Chinese. After time working abroad in China, and prior to beginning law school, Dan gained valuable experience working as a business associate/analyst for a start-up company in Kentucky. During law school, Dan honed his legal skills working in an in-house legal capacity for both Jabil Circuit, Inc. and the World Triathlon Corporation (Ironman). In addition to providing an opportunity to become proficient with business and legal matters, these positions provided Dan extensive experience working with construction manufacturers and suppliers on both a domestic and international level.   Dan supplemented these experiences by also completing a legal internship with the City of St. Petersburg Attorney’s office, where he worked on a variety of issues involving administrative, local, and state laws.  These issues included zoning, licensing, and land use, among others. Dan began his career as a licensed Florida attorney working in complex civil litigation. In this capacity, he represented insurers, contractors, and commercial facilities in all stages of litigation pertaining primarily to residential and commercial property insurance and construction defects. Dan utilizes this breadth of experience and knowledge at Trent Cotney P.A. by providing precise and well-versed legal representation for clients.
